Eric Fiegel, 22, of Mesa, was arrested by local police for the theft of a pet store around 3:40 pm on August 23, 2011. The arrest was made based on surveillance footage and a witness report that included Fiegel's license plate number.
Allegedly, Fiegel stole baby albino boa constrictors from Predator's Reptile Center in Mesa. The surveillance footage apparently shows Fiegel removing the snakes from their cages and then placing them in his pants. The tapes show that he exited the store and did not pay for the baby reptiles.
According to police, Fiegel repeated the theft later the same evening, leaving with baby snakes stowed in his pants. It is reported that he also traded baby snakes at another pet store for a large reptile tank and cash. Fiegel has been positively identified by witnesses, and he also appears to be the man seen in the surveillance video.
