Scottsdale Teacher Not Yet Charged in Sex Offense Case

Thomas Weaver, a teacher with Arcadia Neighborhood Learning Center in the Scottsdale Unified School District, has not yet been charged in a potential sex offense case. Weaver was originally arrested on November 9, 2011.

Weaver's arrest came about after two female students reported to school officials that they had been groped by Weaver. Police and school officials report that the students had described several incidents of Weaver allegedly engaging in inappropriate touching.

The investigation into this case is still ongoing, and no charges have been filed against Weaver at this time. A spokesperson with the Maricopa County Attorney's Office stated, "Due to the need for additional investigation, the County Attorney did not file a complaint against Mr. Weaver within the required 48 hours after his initial appearance following arrest."
